Had my first really cool lucid dream the other day. For those of you who don’t know what Lucid Dreaming (LD) is about read about it on wiki. Anyway, I started dreaming and I knew I was dreaming but I was able to choose to stay asleep. I was in my house and I was playing a game where I summon items to my hand like Jedi’s can do in star wars. That was pretty fun but I got bored with summoning items and I tried to fly. It was really hard. My feet kept going over my head and I had a lot of trouble. Then I wondered if I could summon a hottie for some fun but the phreaking phone rang and woke me up. Dammit!
Anyway. LD’ing is amazing and everyone should try it. Again, check the wiki for more info.

Hi,
Nice pic – it’s from my photo-blog.

Richard
Greetings eDoug…and welcome to lucid dreaming! (I don’t have a lot of people who I can talk to about it, so I do blogsearch.google.com to find people on the Interweb who are having similar experiences.)
I remember when I had my first truly involved lucid dream. Really jarred me, I popped out of bed and immediately onto the computer to search on “dreaming when you know you’re dreaming”. But that was sorta in the pre-Google era, I think I even used AltaVista back then.
I was a bit unnerved at the time, twitching around at 6am. One of the articles I came across explaining lucid dreaming talked of the presence of the “demon dream” and had this totally scary picture of a demon. That page seems long gone, but I was like “oh no!” Little did I know how much “oh no” there was going to be. It’s fun when you think it’s part of your imagination, and then gets to be less fun when you start getting your bearings and feeling like you’re actually visiting alternate universes.
I offer up my journal if you are interested…and in terms of your summoning objects to your hand, I have a telekinesis tag for those dreams where I summon objects, or otherwise cause physical effects with my mind:

I’ve found what really helps in conjuring objects out of thin air is to start a feedback loop by squeezing my hand into a fist where I rub my fingers against my palm. As I do this, I try to remember the sensation of what it feels like to hold that object and mentally focus on it. Very strange how causing the tickling gets the process rolling…
Regards,

Lucid dreams are great fun. I am just getting back in to them. I have created a website with free web based tools (including an online dream journal & a lucid clock to remind you to do reality checks), articles and a forum if you are interested in having more lucid dreams.
My site is at: http://www.iAmLucidDreaming.com
