Seagull Century

A few weeks ago I did the Seagull Century bike ride in Maryland. It is 100 miles over some nice flat terrain out near the ocean. It was going to be the last ride of the season and something to remember. It did accomplish that. Matt and I left the DC area around 3pm and got up there around 8. We found a hotel on the drive up and locked that in. The town of Salisbury is nice and the people are nice. I think the 3 am gangsta rap party in the parking lot of the hotel was a sign that things were not going to go well that day. There is no more irritating sound than fat crack whores getting hit on by gangsta’s in the parking lot of a hotel at 3am. Screaming and laughing and general whore-like behavior. I honestly wouldn’t shed a tear if a truck driver fell asleep at the wheel and barreled into them and their gold-teeth wearing boyfriend/daterapers. But I digress.

We started the ride in the rain. We finished the ride in the rain. We had 30mph headwinds and driving rain all 100 miles. We had animals dodging us and wild ponies which are indiginous to Assateague. It was a great time and I was suprised at the number of riders that stuck with it. I will definately do this ride again sans Gangsta rap parties.
